High
and Low Season
In
South Africa, the summer months (October to April) are considered high
season. Winter months (May to September) are low season.
Climate
Cape Town
is blessed with a mediterranean climate, warm to hot summers and mild
winters (temperature rarely drops below freezing). Winter rainfall, dry
summers. Temperatures in summer range between 23°C - 35°C: winter
between 9°C - 15°C.
Petrol
and travelling
South African
petrol stations (known as garages) accept cash or South African Garage
Cards as payment. Unlike Europe, they do not accept general credit cards
overall. Please ensure that you have sufficient cash to fill up at a petrol
station when travelling long distances.
International

To
call South Africa from overseas, add the prefix +27. For example, to contact
51 On Camps Bay with the area code and telephone number, 021-438 4102,
the following applies : Dial +2721 438 4102.
Passport
requirements
Please ensure
that your passports meet the following 2 requirements:
- That it
not be less than 6 months to the date of expiry.
- That you
have at least 1 full, free page in your passport for stamping by officials.
This also applies to children's passports.
If either
or both these requirements are not met, you will not be let out of the
airport building, will miss out on our famous South African hospitality
and will be sent back home! |
